Happy Holidays

December 23, 2014 thecraftsessions

G'day y'all*,

Just checking in to say that I'm not in this week - Xmas this year means big road trips, and family, and a focus that is elsewhere. So much to be done - especially by my small ones - to get ready for Christmas day. Gifts to be finished (and started!), buttons to be sewn on and cushions to be sewn up. Plus we are already up country and I've realised I've left their stockings at home…..so that's a sewing job for tomorrow.

BUT before I go, I wanted to say a big big thank you for chiming in this year with your thoughts and ideas. I have got to know many of you through your comments and can't wait until next year to meet more of you. I've learnt so much!

I'll be back in this space next week but until then wishing you a very happy time wherever you are.

* Since I returned in September this year, I may have watched all five seasons of Friday Night Lights in a row. I'd been told it was good but who knew it was that good? Y'all gotta know that Tami Taylor may have changed my life.

Dates for the Craft Sessions 2015

Exciting news my friends - especially for those of you that like to make plans. We have dates - lots of dates!

The workshop list will be announced in March 2015.

Registration will open in April 2015.

And The Craft Sessions 2015 will be held Friday 11th September - Sunday 13th September!

Sunshine on the deck

Sunshine on the deck

A couple of other important things.....

1. We will have a payment plan similar to what we did this year. The details will be available in March if this is something you are interested in.

2. Thanks to you lovely people spreading the word, we only had a few spaces left at this year's retreat. As we got close to the event the workshops with available spaces were getting sparse. We limit the number of people in each class to give you an intimate experience and we assign classes on a first come, first served basis. So the earlier you register, the more likely you are to get your first  preferences for workshops. One or two of the workshops were full after the first day of registration last year, and we hate disappointing you! So register early if you have your heart set on a particular workshop.

I'll update the website soon but please feel free to to ask any questions in the comments or send us an email at thecraftsessions@gmail.com.

That's it for today - I'm excited already - and I'll see you next Tuesday.

And we are back (with a giveaway or three!)

Hello hello!

Break is over - and what a productive one it was. Sometimes a break is just the space we need to clarify what comes next. And we have some big BIG things planned for next year. Some along the lines of what you have seen from us before, as well as some totally new plans for a bit of a slight new direction. Exciting times ahead.

So first up - the big question at the end of The Craft Sessions Retreat this year was what was happening next year? The answer is YES - The Craft Sessions 2015 is happening - and I am so excited about what is being planned. By jeepers the classes will be good. I have ideas! And plans, so many plans. I will post details about dates next week when I get a moment to update our website.

There are also going to be some changes happening on the blog. More voices, more regularly, with more content. There will be an extra post a week - so Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday - allowing of course for the odd post missed here and there due to the fact that life is life. And apparently I am moving on from perfectionism. I can't wait to start the show*.

Today to celebrate The Craft Sessions new year I am chuffed to be able to offer up some treats from our lovely retreat sponsors. I'll start with a gorgeous pattern bundle from the lovely Tessuti today. To enter just leave a comment stating what class you would most like us to offer next year. Love to hear your thoughts - classes we have offered in the past or something totally new. Up to you. I'll close the comments at 9pm Sunday 5th night and will announce a winner on Tuesday. You are welcome to enter where ever you are in the world.

I have a few more goodies to offer up next week so pop back on Tuesday.

So glad to be back.

Felicia x

P.S. If you are waiting on an email from me - I'll get to it in the next week or so. Apologies.

* Dealing with jet lag of three smalls, and solo parenting, meant a few hours in a row of the first season of the Muppets the other day. Fun times.

The Craft Sessions 2014 Retreat - Part 1

September 9, 2014 thecraftsessions

Wow! I'm writing this 24hours after the end of our 2014 retreat and I'm still smiling. I think I will be smiling for a while yet….. It is tricky to describe with words just what it feels like to be in the company of so many women that share the same passion. I guess the only thing that describes it is that it felt like community. And joy. So much joy!

The weather gods did their magic, the food was fantastic (thanks YVCC), the bush was beautiful, the teachers were encouraging, enthusiastic and generous with their knowledge, and the women….. What an pleasure to spend a weekend with such a joyous and diverse and interesting bunch of women. So lovely to meet you all!

I'm not going to try to describe it any further as there will just be too many adjectives. I'm going to post some pictures today and Friday and hopefully they will chime in the comments to leave their thoughts about it. I think the pictures will give you the vibe much better than my words can.

With a happy heart,

Felicia x

PS. There are so many gorgeous photos I don't even know where to start!!
